His Wimbledon comeback win against Richard Gasquet won over many Britons unsure whether the Scot Murray has what it takes to become a top player.
Despite losing to Rafael Nadal in the last eight at SW19, Murray has continued to enhance his reputation, winning his first Masters series title in Cincinnati earlier this month.
However, as one of the favourites to win a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, Murray crashed to a shock first round defeat to Lu Yen-Hsun.
His previous best here came in 2006 when he reached the last 16 and on current form, Beijing aside, you would fancy him to improve on that this year.
