VERDICT

Started the year so well on the hardcourts, winning in Doha and then impressing at the Masters Series events in Indian Wells and Miami. However, since returning to the surface this summer the Croatian star has suffered a number of embarrassing defeats. Has one of the most lethal serves in the business so is never an easy scalp to claim, but current form suggests he is ripe for the picking in the early rounds. Helped his country to Davis Cup glory in 2005 but has yet to win a Slam.
