Another claycourt expert who has branched out to other surfaces in recent years. Ferrer has already won one hardcourt title this year (in Auckland) and more recently enjoyed a good run in Cincinnati where he beat the in-form John Isner and Radek Stepanek before also taking out Andy Roddick. This is a Spaniard who can really play on the faster surfaces and he looks capable of causing an upset or two. Can't truly be considered in title terms though.
