Canas' impressive career was halted in 2005 by a 15-month drugs ban, which came about as a result of taking a banned diuretic handed to him by staff at a tournament in Mexico. He returned last September and in less than a year has returned to the brink of the world's top 10. Won only his second ATP event back - in Brazil - and also showed his class on a hardcourt by making the final in Miami and twice beating Roger Federer on the surface. Recent form isn't great but certainly has the ability to make waves here.
