Having won a WTA Tour title at just 15, Vaidisova has long been regarded as a star in the making by followers of the WTA Tour. The Czech teenager hit the mainstream with her run to the semi-finals of this year's French Open where she beat world number one Amelie Mauresmo and Venus Williams. Has since cracked the top 10 and has looked good in the run-up to New York - it took Kim Clijsters to stop her in both Stanford and San Diego. That will be her problem here - the true elite may prove just a little too good.
