VERDICT
Possesses one of the biggest forehands in the game, one which she used to great effect here in 2004 when surging to her first Grand Slam title. Suffered something of a hangover after that win (she lost in the first round as defending champ 12 months ago) and has only really returned to something near her best this season. Reached the final at Roland Garros, losing to Justine Henin-Hardenne. In that sort of form she would be a contender but an abdominal muscle problem has restricted her preparation. As a result, looks unlikely to repeat her 2004 heroics.
