Elena Dementieva has booked her place in the season-ending WTA Sony Ericsson Championships in Doha.
The Russian, who won the Olympic title earlier this year, becomes the fifth player to qualify for the elite eight-woman field in Qatar.
Dementieva's compatriot Dinara Safina has already qualified, along with Serbs Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic and current world number one Serena Williams.
Dementieva said: "One of my goals has always been to get as close as possible to the top and to make it to the Sony Ericsson Championships.
"Making it to Doha just shows me that I've been doing a few things right this season, so I am just very happy about my qualification. I have played very well all year and I will certainly try my best to finish the season on a high note."
Maria Sharapova, Wimbledon champion Venus Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova currently occupy the three other qualifying positions.
The prestigious event, which moves to Doha from Madrid this year, takes place from November 4-9.
