The 38-year-old Serbian and Australian Stosur saw off Max Mirnyi and Hao-Ching Chan 6-4 6-2 to triumph at the All England Club on Sunday.

Stosur secured her second mixed doubles crown at the SW19 courts, to add to her 2008 victory alongside American Bob Bryan.

Veteran Zimonjic said reuniting with Stosur for the first time in four years proved pitoval to his fifth mixed doubles grand slam title.

"I keep asking every year if she will play, so I was just waiting for that 'yes'," said Zimonjic.

"She has proved her quality, she's been number one in the world in doubles, she won the US Open in singles - it's the partner you want to have.

"So whenever she wants to play I'm ready, and I'm glad it's worked out this year."

Zimonjic now boasts two mixed doubles victories at both Roland Garros and the Australian Open, with his Wimbledon title leaving just the US Open left to complete a career slam.

World number 17 Stosur lost out in the first round of Wimbledon's singles to Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer, but said she would leave London pleased overall.

"I'm pleased I said 'yes', and it's been a great experience overall," said Stosur.

"I feel I'm in good form and making progress, I think I can do that in singles as well as doubles, so hopefully that puts me in good shape moving forward towards the US Open."
