Karlovic equals ace record
Ivo Karlovic smashed down 44 aces - equalling the record for a three-set match - as he progressed at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors on Tuesday.

Playing in his home country, the Croatian lost just 12 points on serve as he beat Daniel Brands, who hit 15 aces of his own, 6-7 (4/7) 7-5 7-6 (7/3).
Karlovic did not have to face a break point in the match.
His ace count matched that of Mark Philippoussis who also managed to hit 44 against Byron Black in Kuala Lumpur back in 1995.
Karlovic, who also blasted 78 aces in a five-set Davis Cup match in 2009 (another record at the time), progresses to meet fourth seed and compatriot Ivan Dodig in round two.
Lukas Lacko was also a victor on Tuesday, beating Jan-Lennard Struss 6-4 6-4, while Michael Berrer needed all three to see off young Serb Borna Coric.
Other winners were Bjorn Phau and Dusan Lajovic, who enjoyed wins over Ante Pavic and Pedja Krstin respectively.
