Radwanska will meet Italy's Sara Errani in the last eight after she came through 5-7 6-4 6-3 in a tough battle against Carla Suarez Navarro.
The fifth seed, last year's runner-up, had eased through her first three rounds but there was nothing comfortable about today's victory.
At 5-5 and deuce in the first set, Errani doubled over in pain and took a medical time-out, complaining that she could not breathe properly. Suarez Navarro went on to win the game and the set but Errani recovered.
The Italian said: "I start to feel like a knife was under my ribs. Every time I was breathing it was very painful on this point.
"I knew it wasn't muscular, but I couldn't stay up. So I called the physio and she told me that I had the diaphragm totally blocked and she tried to release it a bit. After that it was much better.
"It's still painful touching it, and I will go to the physio for sure. It's never happened to me before and it was a very strange feeling."
