Venus pushed hard by Muguruza
Top seed Venus Williams overcame a second-set blip against Spain's Garbine Muguruza to book her place in the quarter-finals of the Brasil Tennis Cup.

Playing her first tournament since the Australian Open, the American triumphed 6-4 2-6 7-5 to seal a last-eight clash with Slovakian fifth seed Magdalena Rybarikova.
Muguruza made life hard for Williams, though, saving three match points in the third set before the American got over the line.
Rybarikova was also taken the distance before she beat Spaniard Beatriz Garcia Vidagany 6-4 3-6 6-4.
There was an upset in the bottom half of the draw as South African fourth seed Chanelle Scheepers was beaten 6-1 6-2 by Hungary's Timea Babos.
Babos' reward is a quarter-final against Romania's Monica Niculescu, whose own victory was even more comprehensive, 6-1 6-1 over Tereza Mrdeza.
Seventh seed Kristina Mladenovic of France also had a simple outing as she overcame Tatjana Malek 6-2 6-1, while Melinda Czink beat Beatriz Haddad Maia and Olga Puchkova saw off Caroline Garcia, both coming from behind to win in three sets.
