Fleming has teamed up with Bopanna with regular partner Ross Hutchins absent after he was diagnosed with cancer in December.

And the duo, seeded second, were 6-4 7-6 (7/3) victors over top seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer in the Marseille showpiece.

Fleming, who was winning his seventh doubles title on the ATP Tour after winning the Heineken Open earlier this year with Bruno Soares, told atpworldtour.com: "It's a great day for us.

"We beat one of the best teams in the world. They played the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals last year and I'm sure they'll end up there again this year."
