Hutchins has begun treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the Royal Marsden Hospital, with the Londoner scheduled for chemotherapy sessions every fortnight for three to four months.
In his absence, Fleming and Brazilian Soares won 7-6 (7/1) 7-6 (7/2) in one hour, 35 minutes in what was their team debut.
They overcame early break deficits in each set and had two match points at 5-4 in the second on Brunstrom's serve, before the Swede and his Danish partner took the game into another tie-breaker.
However Fleming and Soares dominated just like they did in the first tie-breaker to take the title.
Fleming will partner fellow Briton Andy Murray in the Australian Open.
