2014 WTA calendar announced
The WTA has unveiled its 2014 calendar with tournaments to be staged in Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong and Wuhan, China.

The event currently staged in Memphis in February will move to Rio, another boost for a city preparing to stage the 2016 Olympics.
The late-season Kuala Lumpur tournament will move to Hong Kong, while Tokyo's event, held the following week, heads to Wuhan - the home city of Chinese star Li Na.
Istanbul will also continue to stage a WTA tournament. It will hold the season-ending WTA Championships for the final time in 2013 - the event will have a new, yet to be decided, home in 2014. However, the Turkish city will instead stage a tournament in July.
British tournament, the AEGON Classic, held in Birmingham, also receives a boost. It is elevated to 'Premier 600' status, meaning more prize money and ranking points will be on offer, thus making it more likely to attract top players.
As for the current season, the WTA has confirmed its Copenhagen event will move to Katowice in Poland in the week of April 8.
A new tournament will also be held in Florianopolis, Brazil. The Brasil Tennis Cup will be staged from February 24 to March 2.
