The pair completed a dramatic 7-6 (7/5) 7-6 (7/4) 6-7 (4/7) 5-7 7-5 victory over eighth seeds Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan and Dutchman Jean-Julien Roger on their seventh match point today after their match had been held over from yesterday because of rain.
In the last eight Marray, from Sheffield, and Nielsen will face American James Cerretani and France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin, who are also unseeded.
It will be a first grand slam quarter-final for Marray, 31, whose best previous runs have been fourth-round appearances at Wimbledon in 2007 and 2009 and the US Open last year.
