Konta battles through
Johanna Konta upset eighth seed Lauren Davis in an epic match lasting more than three hours to progress through to the second round of Yinzhou Bank International Women's Tennis Open in Ningbo, China.

The British number three and world number 125, looking to build on her quarter-final appearance in Guangzhou last week, fired down nine aces compared to just one from her higher-ranked American opponent as she claimed a 6-4 4-6 6-3 win in the WTA 125K Series event.
In a match that took three hours and five minutes to complete, Konta successfully converted four of her 15 break points while saving eight of the 11 fashioned by teenager Davis.
The 22-year-old Konta, who has now won two of her three career meetings with world 82 Davis, will next face Katarzyna Piter of Poland, who beat fellow qualifier Yafan Wang of China 6-4 6-4.
