The Italian claimed a decent win over Grigor Dimitrov in Sydney last week and holds a 2-0 winning record against his opponent. Admittedly Bautista Agut impressed in Chennai recently, but that wasn't on the Plexicushion on show in Melbourne, while he's also had injury issues to deal with since (and during) that final in India.

Ashleigh Barty to beat Dominika Cubulkova 2-0 at 8/1
Dimitrov to beat Benneteau 3-0 & Hewitt to beat Tipsarevic 3-1 at 22/1
Ferrer, Djokovic & Berdych to win 3-0 & Harrison & Bolelli both to win at 17/2
I'm backing home hope Ashleigh Barty to cause one of the upsets of the first round by beat Dominica Cibulkova, who will be struggling for confidence after losing the Sydney International final 6-0 6-0.
As for the men, both the crowd and the momentum will be with Lleyton Hewitt following his recent win in Kooyong, where he cruised to victory over favourite Juan Martin del Potro, while Grigor Dimitrov can overcome Julien Benneteau if he finds the form from his fine run in Brisbane.
