Justine Henin's recent retirement made the planet's most famous female athlete the new world number one. That's fair enough - she won the Australian Open for the first time in January which means she arrives in Paris looking to complete the career Grand Slam at the tender age of 21. Few players have beaten her in 2008, although it is interesting to note she was beaten in Charleston as soon as the tour switched onto the clay, a surface which has always proved problematic for the Russian, whose feared serve is less of a weapon on the dirt. Also picked up a calf strain recently so will need all her fighting spirit to succeed.
