This pony-tailed player is a gritty performer and showed in 2007 that she is seriously good. She picked up four WTA titles - only Justine Henin won more - and helped Russia win the Fed Cup. During the close-season, Chakvetadze was tied up by burglars who raided her Moscow home and perhaps that has affected her on court. 2008 has not been good so far for the petite Russian, although she did find some form in Rome in the run-up to Roland Garros. Will still do well to match last year's run to the quarter-finals.
