Made a flying start to the season, reaching his first Grand Slam quarter-final in the process. However, he's gone downhill since - and nothing summed that up better than Youzhny hitting himself with his own racquet in Miami, drawing blood and earning YouTube fame in the process. A neck injury picked up in Monte Carlo added to his problems. Upon his return, the Russian duly lost in the opening round in Hamburg so things don't look good. Likely to be an early seeded casualty.
