VERDICT

Nadal arrives here as the three-time champion and undisputed king of clay. He has never lost at Roland Garros and has been beaten just twice on clay in more than 100 matches on the surface. Has some of the best defence in the game which means it's incredibly hard to hit winners against him on the red dirt. He'll run all day and has phenomenal speed around the court. Did slump to a shock defeat in the run-up to Roland Garros and hasn't looked 100 per cent physically, but even at 80 per cent, Nadal will take some stopping. Has already won the Masters Series titles in Monte Carlo and Hamburg this season.
