VERDICT

Certainly a talented player but one who seems to lack a big-match temperament, as his poor Grand Slam record shows - only once has he gone beyond the last 16. His chances of improving that record in Paris took a major knock when he damaged ankle ligaments while playing in the Davis Cup in April and he has only just returned to the tour, losing his comeback match in Hamburg. Looks to be one seed to oppose in the first week.
