VERDICT

The left-hander is one of the most experiened players on the WTA Tour. Hasn't been in the best of form in 2007 though and could well be happy to return to the claycourts of Europe. It certainly looked that way as she thrashed Martina Hingis en route to the Berlin quarter-finals and also performed well in Rome where she beat Serena Williams. Having been a regular in the second week at Roland Garros, Schnyder is one player the big guns will be wary of.
