It doesn't seem to matter how many times she's written off or how many critics she has, Serena Williams just defies them all. That was certainly the case at this year's Australian Open which she won despite starting the event as the world number 81. That was her eighth Grand Slam singles title but only one of those has come in Paris. Clay is the surface she least prefers but it would be plain foolish to reject her title claims given her form so far this season (she also won in Miami). Should go close.
