Mauresmo finally made her big breakthrough last season by winning her first two Grand Slam titles. However, success at her home Slam still eludes her. With the pressure on at home and with a fragile mental game, Mauresmo has yet to go beyond the last eight here despite being well-suited to the clay. This looks unlikely to be the year for her either. appendicitis has kept her out for a large part of the season so far and after early exits in Berlin and Rome she will be relying on the home crowd rather than form to carry her through.
