Solid rather than spectacular sums up Davydenko, but that's not bad for a player who's been number three in the world. The Russian's game shows few weaknesses and an excellent 2006 season saw him capture five titles, including the Paris Masters. Many feel he lacks a big weapon to get him out of trouble against the true elite, although he gave Rafael Nadal his toughest match in a long time in Rome recently. He's been to the semi-final here before and could do so again but it's hard to see him lifting the trophy.
