This Russian-born teenager made huge strides early in her career and was named the WTA Tour's newcomer of the year in 2004. She then struggled to maintain her progress but last year she made an impact again - and not just for the red knickers she controversially wore at Wimbledon. Golovin ended the season at a career-high ranking after an impressive run of autumn results and will be confident of a good showing here. Will be hoping to make the last eight for the first time and could well do so.
