VERDICT

If you hadn't already heard, Dementieva has a major flaw in her game - the serve. When she has an off day she just can't stop serving double faults. It's cost her the chance of being one of the world's true elite as all her other shots are top notch. She was twice a Grand Slam finalist back in 2004, but her best days now appear to be behind her. Has never been beyond the fourth round in Melbourne and after a first-round exit in Sydney don't expect this to be the year for that to change.
