VERDICT

Gasquet arrived on the scene back in 2002 and much was expected of him. However, he was just 15 at the time and that helps to explain why it was only last season that the talented Frenchman cracked the top 10. 2007 was certainly his best year to date and Wimbledon saw him make a Grand Slam impact for the first time. His backhand is a real weapon and given he's had good results on all surfaces, Gasquet shouldn't care too much how the new Plexicushion courts play in Melbourne. Should be around come the business end of things.
