VERDICT

The giant Czech has long been touted as one of the 'next generation' but has seen himself overtaken by the likes of Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. He certainly has the talent to reach the upper echelons, but consistency has been a problem. Berdych also seems to lack a big-match temperament as his poor Grand Slam record shows. On his day, he's capable of beating anyone but it's unlikely he can string together seven performances of the highest quality which he'll need to do to win here.
