Top seed Novak Djokovic sealed his first Dubai Tennis Championships title with a straight-sets win over David Ferrer in Saturday's final.
The Serbian was made to battle in the first set but stepped up a gear in the second as he sealed a 7-5 6-3 win over the fourth-seeded Spaniard.
Djokovic claimed a first set, which was dominated by serve, before claiming an immediate break in the second game, battling from 40-15 down.
The world number three was playing the better tennis and his opponent appeared to be getting frustrated, but the top seed surprisingly relinquished his advantage in game seven, sending an inside-out forehand into the net at break-point down.
But Djokovic showed his class, expertly working his opponent round the court to break immediately back, helped by a Ferrer double fault.
A near-miraculous Ferrer volley gave him a break point to keep him in the match but he fired a forehand way wide.
And Djokovic did not give him another opportunity, sealing the title with an ace down the centre which a Hawkeye replay showed clipped the line.
