Roger Federer successfully defended his title at the Davidoff Swiss Indoors on Sunday - and secured another year-end number one spot in the process.
Federer claimed his seventh title of the season with a 6-3 6-4 victory over Jarkko Nieminen of Finland.
But it was his fourth year-end number one ranking that delighted Federer the most at his home ATP event.
Federer said: "The big goal for me of the season (was to) protect the number-one ranking and, as well, win Wimbledon.
"I've achieved basically all of that, but there's still a bit left to make it an even more incredible season by hopefully winning Paris and Shanghai. I know it's very difficult; I have to go through many top-10 players to do that. But the season so far has been excellent, and, of course, it's even nicer to have clinched (the year-end number-one ranking) in Basel."
The 26-year-old's reign as world number one stretches back to February 2004.
Since the beginning of 2004, Federer has compiled a match record of 310-22.
Earlier this year he broke Jimmy Connors' record (160) for most consecutive weeks in the top spot.
Against Nieminen, Federer captured five of the first seven games of the match before sealing the first set. Nieminen did rally by pulling ahead 4-3 in the second, but the Swiss fought back.
