Third seed Dmitry Tursunov ended Frank Dancevic's dream of a maiden ATP Tour title with a 6-4 7-5 victory in the final of the Indianapolis Championships on Sunday.
Tursunov broke Dancevic, who beat top seed Andy Roddick in the semi-finals, in the third game of the first set and the 11th of the second before serving out to secure his second career title after winning in Mumbai last year.
The Russian struggled with his serve and had just a 48 per cent first-serve success rate, but did win all 26 points when his first serve was successful and never offered Dancevic an opportunity to break in the 77-minute contest.
Tursunov, 24, had been handed a fairly easy route to the final as he did not face a fellow seed following the exits of Robby Ginepri, James Blake and Roddick.
