Serbian teenager Novak Djokovic became the youngest ever winner of the ATP Miami Masters after crushing Guillermo Canas 6-3 6-2 6-4 on Sunday.
The 10th seed was simply too fast and too accurate for the man who has conquered world number one Roger Federer in successive Masters Series events, winning in two hours and 19 minutes.
The 19-year-old Djokovic is the first teenager to win the event since 1990, when a 19-year-old Andre Agassi defeated Stefan Edberg in the final.
Djokovic is even being tipped as the man to succeed Federer at the top of the rankings and few would argue with that on his recent form.
And the win means he will climb to a career-high seventh when the new ranking list is published on Monday.
He reached the final of the last Masters Series event - in Indian Wells- two weeks ago before losing to world number two Rafel Nadal.
But he joined Ivan Lendl (1989) as the only player to win the Miami title without dropping a set, claiming his second title of the year and his fourth in all.
