Local favourite Juan Monaco won his first ATP title with a straight-sets defeat of Alessio di Mauro in the final of the Copa Telmex.

The 22-year-old was in control throughout as he bevame the third Argentine to win the event in the last four years. racing to a 6-1 6-2 victory in Buenos Aires.

"I'm extremely happy to have won my first ATP title here in Buenos Aires. This is a dream that came true," he said.
