Richard Gasquet is hoping his recent successes on the ATP Tour will provide the boost he needs for the rest of the 2006 season.
The Frenchman beat Feliciano Lopez of Spain 7-6 (7/4) 6-7 (3/7) 6-3 6-3 on Sunday to win the final of the Allianz Suisse Open.
Seventh-seeded Gasquet also captured the grasscourt event in Nottingham prior to Wimbledon and, on Friday, showed just how effective he can be on clay when he knocked out second seed Gaston Gaudio of Argentina in Gstaad.
Sunday's success marked a third career title for the 20-year-old Gasquet following his back-to-back triumphs at Nottingham.
He has now won 10 of his last 11 matches since beginning the year with a 7-13 win-loss record.
"I no longer have injuries," Gasquet said of his recent success.
"I played well in Nottingham. It's incredible for me to win two titles in three weeks.
"I played perfect here. Now I have a lot of confidence for the rest of the year."
His opponent Lopez had defeated top seed Ivan Ljubicic in the quarter-finals, but struggled to a 7-6 (7/2) 6-7 (5/7) 6-3 victory over 17-year-old Croatian qualifier Marin Cilic in the last four.
The Spaniard, who won his only career title at Vienna in 2004, had not appeared in an ATP final since falling to James Blake at New Haven last August and believes he can still take a lot out of Gstaad despite his loss to Gasquet.
"This week is very important, even more when you aren't winning and you come here without confidence," said Lopez.
"Even losing in the finals is a big result for me. Hopefully this will give me confidence for coming tournaments."
