Roger Federer has struggled with Ivan Ljubicic in the past but when it comes
to finals, he almost always comes out on top.
The world's top-ranked player, Federer rallied for a 5-7 7-5 7-6 (7-5)
triumph over Ljubicic in the final of the $1million ABN AMRO World Tennis
Tournament in Rotterdam.
The sensation from Switzerland picked up his second title of the year, having
also beaten the unseeded Ljubicic in the final at Doha.
Federer has won 31 of his last 32 matches and improved to 5-3 lifetime against
Ljubicic.
The 23-year-old Federer improved to 15-1 this year and has not lost in a final
since 2003.
The 25-year-old Ljubicic has reached three finals this year but remains in
search of his second career title.
