Tommy Haas beat fellow German Nicolas Kiefer 7-6 (8/6) 6-4 to win the final of the Mercedes-Benz Cup in Los Angeles.

Haas survived two set points in the opening set before winning the tie-break, then broke Kiefer in the third game of the second set.

Haas held serve thereafter, winning the final game at love with a backhand winner.

Kiefer converted just one of six break points, and failed with all five in the final set, while Haas was successful with two of his six break opportunities.
