Chile lifted the World Team Cup with a thrilling 2-1 victory in the final against the Czech Republic.

Fernando Gonzalez - who won all eight of his matches throughout the week in Dusseldorf - gave the Chileans the lead with a 7-6 7-6 win over Jiri Novak before Radek Stepanek levelled the tie with a 6-3 7-6 victory over Marcelo Rios.

So the trophy was decided by the final doubles rubber.

Gonzalez teamed up with Nicolas Massu to beat Novak and Stepanek 6-4 6-2.
