Croatia's Ivo Karlovic notched his third career title with a 6-3 3-6 6-1 victory over Thomas Johansson in the final of the Stockholm Open on Sunday.
The big-serving seventh-seed, who recently became just the fourth player to notch 1,000 aces in a season since the ATP started keeping it as an official statistic in 1991, secured his third win in four career matches against Johansson.
It was a surprisingly stress-free victory for Karlovic, who overcame an in-form opponent to add to titles in Houston and Nottingham this year.
Johansson eliminated top-seeded American James Blake at the hardcourt event's semi-finals on Saturday.
Blake came in as a two-time defending champion of this event, but the Swede rode the momentum of the home crowd and put an end the 27-year-old's reign, saving five match points in the process.
Johansson is no stranger to success at this event as he was the last player not named Blake to win here with his title in 2005.
The 32-year-old also won this tournament in 2000, was a finalist in 1998 and is the owner of a 27-9 mark here.
