Andy Roddick won his first title of 2006 with victory at the ATP Western & Southern Financial Group Masters on Sunday.
The ninth seed defeated Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-3 6-4 in the final to mark his first trophy since his success in Lyon last October.
It was the fourth ATP Masters shield of Roddick's career and the second in four years in Cincinnati.
In his only other final this year, he was edged by fellow American James Blake at Indianapolis last month.
The 23-year-old Roddick also improved to a 3-0 win-loss record against Ferrero, whom he beat in the 2003 US Open final to win his lone grand slam title.
The 2003 French Open champion, Ferrero had upset second-seeded compatriot Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals on Friday and seventh-seeded countryman Tommy Robredo in the last four.
Ferrero has not won a title since Madrid in 2003 and was playing his first final since Vienna last October.
