Daniele Bracciali claimed his maiden ATP Tour title on Sunday as he downed top seed Nicolas Massu in straight sets in the final of the Grand Prix Hassan II.
The seventh seed from Italy, Bracciali stunned the Chilean Olympic singles champion Nicolas Massu, 6-1 6-4.
Bracciali, 28, had never advanced beyond the quarter-finals of an ATP event prior to this week.
With his upset victory in the US$323,250 claycourt event, Bracciali improved to just 9-8 on the year.
Massu, 26, had been 1-1 in finals this year, having claimed the title at the Brazil Open with a win over Alberto Martin and having lost to Jose Acasuso at Vina del Mar, Chile.
