Tommy Haas has established himself as one of the hottest players on the ATP Tour after winning his second title in a month.
Seeded sixth in this tournament, the 27-year-old German recorded a 6-3 6-2 victory over unseeded Robin Soderling of Sweden in the final of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships on Sunday.
Haas beat Xavier Malisse in the final at Delray Beach, Florida, on February 6 and the win over Soderling was good for his second Memphis title.
"This place will always hold a special place in my heart," Haas said. "This court suits me well and it is a nice place to play."
Haas, who also won here in 1999, has only two losses in 2006 and both have come to world number one Roger Federer. Haas improved his Memphis record to 20-6 with the semi-final victory, and is now 2-3 in the final.
Soderling edged out Belgian Kristof Vliegen 7-5 2-6 7-6 (7/5) in the semi-finals on Saturday but ran out of gas against Haas who already has 17 victories this season.
