Tommy Haas and Alexander Waske won the decisive
doubles match on Saturday to help Germany defeat Argentina 2-1 to claim the ARAG
ATP World Team Championship.
On Friday, the duo beat Tommy Robredo and Santiago Ventura, 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 to
lift Germany to a 2-1 triumph over Spain in the Blue Group decider.
Against Red Group winners Argentina, Haas and Waske routed Guillermo Coria and
Gaston Gaudio - last year's French Open champion and runner-up, respectively -
6-1 6-2.
Coria had given Argentina a 1-0 lead with a 6-1 6-1 romp over Florian Mayer,
but Haas responded with a surprise 6-4 6-3 victory over Gaudio, setting up the doubles
match for the title.
