The indomitable Roger Federer made quick work of Ivan
Ljubicic to win the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha on Saturday.
The Swiss world number one, who is warming up for his Australian Open title
defence, beat the sixth-seeded Croat 6-3 6-1.
The two players had been level at 3-3 in head to heads, with Ljubicic taking
the spoils in their last meeting in Federer's home town of Basel two years ago.
But he was no match on this occasion.
The 23-year-old Federer can already claim to be among the greats in tennis
history.
He captured three of the four Grand Slams in 2004, and has now won 14 finals
in a row.
Saturday's title is his 23rd in 31 career finals, and he extended his match
winning streak to 21. Federer, who did not drop a set in five matches in Doha,
has won eight titles in his last 10 events.
As for Ljubicic, he was also runner-up last year when he fell to France's
Nicolas Escude.
