Competing in just his eighth ATP match, Jerome Haehnel captured his first title in an all-French final at the Open de Moselle tennis tournament.

Haehnel, who defeated third seed Jose Acasuso and defending champion Arnaud Clement on his way to the championship match of this indoor event, edged out wild card Richard Gasquet, 7-6 (11/9) 6-4.

Both the 24-year-old Haehnel and the 18-year-old Gasquet were making their first appearances in an ATP Tour final.

Haehnel, who mostly has played Challenger events, recorded his sixth win this season, earning prize money of £35,600.
