For the third time this year, Roger Federer
defeated Andy Roddick to win a tournament.
Top seed Federer of Switzerland easily beat second seed and world No. 2
Roddick, 6-4 6-0, to win the $550,000 Thailand Open on Sunday.
Already sure of finishing the year ranked as the world's No. 1 player, Federer
has also beaten Roddick in the finals of Wimbledon and the Toronto Tennis
Masters Series.
Roddick finished 2003 as the top-ranked player in the world Federer, who
receives 76,500 for winning the tournament, is 8-1 lifetime against the
hard-serving American.
Winner of 11 tournaments entering 2004, Federer has won 10 tournaments this
year - including the Australian Open and the US Open as well as Wimbledon.
