Top seed Guillermo Canas won the second title of his
career as he edged out Thailand's rising star Paradorn Srichaphan in the Tata
Open in Chennai.
The Argentinian took advantage of an early break to take the first set 6-4 and
after both players held serve in the second he triumphed in the tie-break to
clinch victory.
Canas, who won on clay in Casablanca last year, admitted his mind had been on
the troubles in his homeland where the economy is under threat of collapse.
He said: "I dedicate this win to my country and all its people, because things
are not very good there, so I did this for Argentina."
