Top seed Juan Carlos Ferrero captured the men's title at the Estoril Open.
Ferrero, 20, outlasted unseeded fellow Spaniard Felix Mantilla 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-3, putting an end to his 17-match unbeaten run and claiming his second title of the year in the process.
Ferrero, who earlier this week was labelled "the future of Spanish tennis" by compatriot Albert Portas after he went down to Ferrero in the semi-final, showed once more his superiority on clay.
And with Roland Garros on the horizon, the young Spaniard revealed that he is not considering any kind of break in the run-up to the French Grand Slam event.
"If there are seven tournaments on clay, I'm going to play eight," he said.
