Hunter - blew up in last year's semi-final.
(8) PAUL HUNTER
World Ranking: 8
Provisional Ranking: 3
Date Of Birth: 14/10/78
World Championship best: Semi-final - 2003
Snooker's own David Beckham, Hunter made his World Championship breakthrough last season when reaching the semi-finals.
A string of superb performances saw him oust Matthew Stevens and defending champion Peter Ebdon before blowing a 15-9 lead against Ken Doherty to eventually go down 17-16.
Until that point the Yorkshireman had struggled in Sheffield, instead saving his best snooker for Wembley and The Masters.
Having won there in 2001 and 2002, Hunter showed his affinity for the venue again earlier this year, capturing the crown for a third time.
This time it was Hunter making a sensational fightback, coming from 7-2 down to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 10-9.
If he replicates such form Hunter will be one to watch out for.
And recent form suggests a title bid is a possibility - Hunter impressed when finishing runner-up at the final warm-up event, the Players Championship.
